Carrot Seed Preschool - where children can wonder, discover, imagine, construct, and learn through play.
- We believe that the primary importance is the development of the whole child - socially, emotionally, intellectually and physically.
- At Carrot Seed, we provide a wonderfully rich inclusive environment for children to play, explore, "live in the moment", and grow as independent and self-directed individuals.
- Children need to run, jump and climb freely outdoors for healthy brain development. Our spacious playground provides this opportunity.
- We believe that children must play in a diverse inside and outside setting. At Carrot Seed the children may play either in or outdoors at any given time during the program.
- We support the child's right to learn through play.
- Our program is child directed and teacher supported. We encourage children to make decisions independently, with our guidance and support.
- In our inclusive environment there is a sense of acceptance and belonging for all.
- Carrot Seed is emotionally, socially, and physically safe for all children. We promote a creative, imaginative, and cooperative environment.
- We offer an unstructured art program where the child is the explorer and the creator. There are no right and wrong ways to use the art materials.
- We are an open door school; you are welcome to drop in anytime to observe your child or our program.
"For children, this is just a whisper, a brief moment, in which they can enjoy the richness of childhood spaces" - Bev Bos
